Central defender, Scott Guyett, signed for Yeovil Town on a free transfer from Chester City in July 2004. The colossal 6'3" Australian proved himself to be an enormously reliable member of the Gloversí back line with some very solid displays during the 2005-06 season. After his first season was seriously hampered by three horrible knee injuries, it was only to be expected that he would bounce back in style with typical Aussie grit and determination! A two month loan spell at Aldershot at the beginning of the 2005-06 season helped him to freshen up effectively and re-accustom himself for the rigorous demands of League One football.
Despite his nationality, Guyett has been playing first team football in England since 1997. His four years at Southport were extremely profitable, as he registered an impressive tally of 11 goals in 84 appearances. After making 24 appearances for Oxford United in 2001-02, he spent two successful seasons at Chester City, where he scored 4 goals in 58 appearances, was voted player of the year in 2003-04, and captained the English National Game XI.
