Olufela is a former Arsenal Academy player who was taken on by Southampton in the summer of 2014 as part of their Academy system. Born in London on September 5th 1997, the Saints gave him a two year professional contract in the summer of 2016, and then blooded him in the Football League Cup against Sunderland in October 2016, after he came on as a 26th minute substitute.
He also played in three of Southampton's Under-21 outings in the EFL Trophy during the 2016-17 season, scoring twice in three appearances against Crawley Town and Colchester United. Although he is not capped by either country, he is qualified to play for either Nigeria or England, with his parents both hailing from the former country. He plays mainly as a front line striker, but can also play in wide positions.
Olufela agreed a half-season loan with Yeovil Town on July 9th 2017, that will keep him at Huish Park until January 2018.
