Rhys is a former Norwich City academy player who was part of their squad that won the FA Youth Cup in 2012-13. He later moved on to sign for Charlton Athletic for the 2014-15 season, albeit without making any first team appearances.
His first team breakthrough came during the 2015-16 season when he signed for Aldershot Town, where he scored seven goals in 41 appearances at National League level. That drew the attention of Grimsby Town, who signed him on a two year deal when they were promoted into the Football League, signing for an undisclosed fee. He made eight appearances for the Mariners, but with all of them from the substitutes bench, and disappeared from view at the end of November as his club changed their management team.
In January 2017, he moved on loan to National League side Macclesfield Town, where he was a regular in their side during the second half of the 2016-17 season, making 17 National League appearances, scoring two goals. He was also a part of their FA Trophy side that reached the Wembley final, ultimately losing to York City - he scored two more goals as part of their cup run.
Rhys is qualified to represent Antigua and Barbuda as a full international, where he has made five appearances. He is generally deployed as a winger or a wide forward, although can play as a second striker.
He signed for Yeovil Town on June 16th 2017, for an undisclosed fee, penning a two year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2019.
