Match Report:

Yeovil Town superbly bounced back from a goal down to beat a well-organised Carlisle outfit 2-1 at Huish Park this afternoon. Unsung hero Nathan Jones bagged the winner with a cracking free-kick after Lloyd Owusu had levelled matters five minutes after Carlisle took the lead.

The visitors went ahead four minutes after the break when a cross from former Yeovil Town player Kevin Gall allowed Simon Hackney to slot home from a narrow angle and put Carlisle in front. Yeovil Town manager Russell Slade began to show his frustration but his side showed tremendous character with two goals in eleven minutes, having not scored for an incredible 407 minutes going into the fixture today.

Lloyd Owusu scored his sixth competitive goal of the season after good work from Scott Guyett who headed back an Anthony Barry free-kick into the path of Owusu. The come back was completed when left-back Nathan Jones struck an excellent free-kick on the edge of the box into the top corner of the Carlisle goal for his second ever goal for Yeovil Town.

Nathan Jones has been without a doubt one of the most consistent players for his club in the past year, providing a wealth of experience and class going forward and defending. It was therefore only fitting that, although one of the oldest members of the squad yet the fittest player in the side, the 34-year-old grabbed the winner to give Russell Slade’s men three important points before a tricky away test against local rivals Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
