Former Yeovil Town winger Ryan Hedges may be about to travel north of the border for his next career move. The 23 year old has spent the last two-and-a-half years on the books of Barnsley, and was part of their side that gained promotion from League One at the end of the 2018-19 season, making 26 appearances and scoring one goal. However, Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen are reportedly trying to sign him up on a free transfer, with the former Swansea City Academy graduate out of contract this summer.
Barnsley have offered Hedges a new deal to stay with the Yorkshire side, but the Football Insider website reports that Hedges is currently up in Scotland undergoing a medical, ahead of signing a contract at Pittodrie under Derek McInnes. Overall, Hedges made 59 appearances for Barnsley after cutting short his 2016-17 season loan spell with Yeovil Town, although 41 of those came from the substitutes bench, with him largely being used as a 'squad' player within their ranks. Hence assuming the reports of a medical prove true, it may suggest he's looking to leave Oakwell in search of more regular football, or at least more minutes on the pitch.
