Yeovil Town's Academy side will be playing another pre-season friendly against Wincanton Town next week. They will be playing the Western League Division One side on Tuesday 26th July 2016, with Wincanton reporting this to be an 'away' match at present, with a 7.45p.m. kick-off. At present the Glovers' opponents indicate that the venue is not fixed, meaning that if it is on a pitch without floodlights, it might have a slightly earlier start time - we'll keep an eye out for details.
The Under-18s side have so far played in four friendlies, as far as it's possible to tell. On July 12th they lost 1-0 against Cheddar in front of a crowd of just under 200 supporters, with an 84th minute goal from Adam Jones winning the game. Two days later they played Southampton's Under-18s, which saw them lose 4-0. They've since gone on to play a Bristol City side (last Saturday) with a fourth match being played on July 18th against unknown opposition - there were reports that Ryan Bird, who did not play in the first team match against Merthyr Town, was drafted into that side, which has strengthened suggestions that his future lies away from Huish Park.
Their EFL Youth Academy season begins on August 6th, when they will travel to play Exeter City, with the Grecians likely to use the Cat and Fiddle Training Ground for the match.
